About Us
The Team
Anita Goode
Owner + Maker + Grower
Anita has been a ‘part of the fabric’ at Wangolina since inception, working in every facet of the family business. Graduating with an Oenology degree at Adelaide University in 2001, she went on to work consecutive vintages overseas and within Australia to broaden her knowledge, exposure and experience before returning to her home in Mt Benson. Taking the reins as sole Owner/ Director in 2013, she has continued to evolve the Wangolina range and vineyard plantings to capitalise on the cool climate regionality and coastal capabilities of Mt Benson.
Georgia Blanch
Marketing & Events
Georgia is a local from way back, growing up on a property not too far down the road from us here at Wangolina, and comes to us with long-standing experience in the wine industry. After completing a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, she first landed a role in the Barossa while at the same time completing a Master’s in Wine Business before joining a wine collective in Adelaide. She has worn many hats in the industry from distribution and export through to production and marketing and sales, showcasing just how passionate she is about the wine biz.
Dan Flint
Cellar Door Co-ordinator
Dan grew up in very close proximity to Wangolina, getting his hands dirty in local vineyards in the Limestone Coast. Originally studying as an Architect, he enjoyed his side gig in wine retail more, jumping headfirst onto the winery tools in the Clare Valley. His love of the process saw him manage a fine wine store in Melbourne for eight years, where his eyes were opened to new trends in wine both locally and internationally. Completing his WSET III developed a passion for effective product communication, for consumers both new and seasoned.
Our Patch
Our vineyard is situated in the “Hundred of Mt Benson” as they used to say, on Limestone Coast Road, Mt Benson. Established in 1999 by John & Anita Goode with plantings of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Semillon & Sauvignon Blanc, the vineyard has now expanded to include Pinot Gris, Grüner Veltliner and Malvasia Istriana (which is super exciting).
The sandy loam over limestone soils provide the ideal soil condition for vine growth, plentiful supplies of fresh subterranean water (which filters through the limestone) and the temperate climate, which is moderated by the influence of the Great Southern Ocean, all providing excellent conditions for vineyards to thrive and produce high quality wines. Our vineyard is located approximately 12kms as the bird flies from the sea at Cape Jaffa.

Our Goode Breeding
The Goode family arrived in Kingston in the late 1800′-s and established ‘Wangolina Station’ in 1923 breeding Shorthorn cattle and Merino sheep. Working the land for many years John & Jan Goode, along with daughter Anita, planted and established the Wangolina vineyards in 1999.
There were few plantings in the Mt Benson Wine Region at the time with Mt Benson Vineyards and Cape Jaffa Wines leading the way. The Goode family planted the traditional varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc.
In 2001 Anita harvested and made the first vintage from the Wangolina vineyard and since then has never looked back. With plantings now including Pinot Gris and Gruner Veltliner, plus a nursery block of trial varieties for the future.
Taking ownership of the property in 2013 Anita, along with the valued assistance of her retired father John, manages the winemaking and vineyards, as well as running a commercial cattle business that consists of Shorthorn and Angus cattle for the Australian and international markets.
